An assignment, not a blank chat
Start with a defined task and a clear output: a reviewed document, an opportunity brief or a management report.
Matrix / AI Employees
Software roles that work with company context, assigned tools and defined responsibilities.
Its role in Matrix
Start with a defined task and a clear output: a reviewed document, an opportunity brief or a management report.
Use the relevant company knowledge and prior work supplied through Matrix.
Set the point at which a person reviews, approves or takes the next step.
In practice
An AI employee keeps its own long-term memory of the work it has done — decisions, feedback, context. Hand over a task in March and its successor in June starts from what March taught it. The shared company context maintained by Brain adds what the rest of the organisation knows. This is the difference between an AI employee and a chat window — and it is why the value of Matrix grows with every week worked.
Working employees carry your company’s tasks — you define their roles and responsibilities. System roles come with Matrix and keep it governed: review, audit and the assistant through which people talk to the system.
AI employees are organised into departments, the same way a company is: a department has a goal, a scope and clear ownership of its outputs. People manage the department’s purpose — not each task inside it.
The whole system
Company knowledge, connections, software roles and control have different jobs. Their value comes from working together in one architecture.
The actual sources, permissions and review points are defined around the workflow.
